With over 15 years in the Winnipeg film industry as Graphic Artist, over 5 years as Art Director and more recently as Production Designer, Jon’s concept renderings, look books, graphics and palettes have been integral to building the visual world of numerous films and television shows. As an Art Director for period series like The Porter and Little Bird or films such as Champions, Jon works closely with art teams to realize the Production Designers’ vision, crafting real-world solutions that work within the constraints of each production. Jon’s obsession with problem-solving also sees him regularly experimenting with new systems and technologies to improve Art Department workflows. 

Jon won the 2023 Canadian Screen Award for Best Production Design or Art Direction, Fiction for Art Direction on The Porter along with Rejean Labrie (Production Designer) and Sara McCudden (Set Decorator).

Jon’s background is in Fine Arts / Art History, and Masters’ level Digital Production Arts.
